Welcome to "Tokyo Teacher", an ever-changing collection of stories, methods, and resources that I have compiled during my service with the Japanese Exchange and Teaching (JET) Program.
My name is Andrew Mills, and I am a recent double graduate of James Madison University, where I received a Bachelor of Arts in History (B.A.), and a Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T). I have a teaching license in History and Social Science from the Commonwealth of Virginia, and am currently employed as an Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) for the JET Program. I have been assigned to a private school in Tokyo Japan--Teikyo Gakuen Junior and Senior High School, where I am teaching History and English.
"Tokyo Teacher" serves to provide documentation for several mediums: First, it is structured as a journal documentation of my journey in Japan. Second, it provides samples of lessons and materials I have created in my time in Japan, along with commentary on the impact of such lessons. Finally, it serves as an electronic medium designed to facilitate intercultural awareness and potential classroom applications both in Japan and the United States.
